To convey my giddiness over the recent rec love The Lost Ones has been receiving, I've compiled a rec list of some of my absolute favorite fics spanning across multiple fandoms. They all have in common the theme of all-consuming sexual obsession (clearly one of my favorite themes), writing skill beyond belief, and EPIC length. You'd need countless hours to finish them all. All characters featured go to dark, dark, DARK places. Did I mention dark? These fics are not for the faint of heart but for the reader looking to read some of the best fanfic has to offer. Enjoy.

Title: The Electra Complex.
Fandom: Samurai Champloo.
Author: DeniPie.
Rating: NC-17.
Pairings: Fuu/Mugen, Fuu/Jin.
Summary: When Fuu was five, men became the source of all her problems. And it appeared that now, at fifteen, they still were.
Note: Her Mugen is the most purely primal character I've ever encountered. The lengths he goes to in order to bind an unwilling Fuu to him blow the mind-- yet, he's still perfectly in-character. This fic is like Richardson's Clarissa without the victory-through-saintly-death ending.

Title: His Terrible Swift Sword.
Fandom: X-Men Movieverse.
Author: [Bad username or site: @].
Rating: NC-17.
Pairings: Charles/Erik (main), Logan/Rogue, John/Bobby, and others.
Summary: In the past, a young Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr struggle to discover their powers -- and in the near future, humanity is waging war on Magneto's Brotherhood and losing.
Note: This fic pretty much defines the word "epic." You will never read a better Charles/Erik backstory, nor will you ever forget this fic. If you haven't read Yahtzee before, then consider yourself officially shamed.

Title: My Wife and My Dead Wife.
Fandom: Oz.
Author: Gemma Files ([Bad username or site: @]).
Rating: NC-17.
Pairings: Schillinger/Beecher, Beecher/Keller.
Summary: WIFE... is a four-letter word.
Note: I never get tired of reccing this one. Possibly my favorite and most absorbing reading experience to date (fic or otherwise). Love/hate/obsession triangles become rectangles become circles... These characters are absolutely drowning in their various obsessions with each other. Glorious.

Titles: The Man Who Wasn't There and The Man Who Sold the World.
Fandoms: Queer as Folk/Angel the Series crossover.
Author: [Bad username or site: @].
Rating: NC-17.
Pairings: Brian/Michael (main), Angel/Spike (main), Brian/Wesley, Brian/Spike.
Summary: Desperate to escape the ghosts of the past, Brian Kinney leaves Pittsburgh and takes a job at Wolfram & Hart in Los Angeles. But he soon finds that ghosts have a funny way of finding you.
Note: The Man Who Wasn't There: An AU crossover that works so well it's kind of hard to believe until you've read it yourself. Spike suffers for his seemingly unbreakable bond with his grandsire, and Brian suffers for the loss of Michael (post QaF S4 finale). The Man Who Sold the World: Its prequel; Brian/Michael through the years like you've never seen them before. So twisted, messed up, and absolutely sublime.

Titles: Slightly Darker Than Black, Burn, and The Dead Church.
Fandom: Angel the Series.
Author: [Bad username or site: @].
Rating: NC-17.
Pairings: Cordelia/Angel, Cordelia/Angelus, and Cordelia/Wesley.
Summary: Following the abduction of Angel’s son, Wesley has lost his only family, and spirals ever deeper into darkness. When Cordelia decides to drag him out, things get very complicated... and dangerous.
Note: A three-part story, starting with Slightly Darker Than Black and continues in Burn and then The Dead Church. Angel succumbs to despair over the loss of Connor and the line between himself and Angelus slowly disintegrates. Cordelia does what I wish she had done in the series and actually attempts to put her makeshift family back together again while navigating the dangerous obsessions and lusts of the increasingly mad/despairing Angel and Wesley. It doesn't get any better than Julie Fortune in Angelverse (or anywhere really).

Title: Resurrection.
Fandom: 3:10 to Yuma.
Author: [Bad username or site: @].
Rating: PG-13.
Pairing: Ben/Dan.
Summary: A second chance. A disintegrating hold on reality. A battle on the home front.
Note: The first of several epic-length fics in the same series. Ben gradually loses himself to insanity and an obsession with Dan, who has to go to crazy lengths to escape him (and his own feelings for Ben).

Title: Demon.
Author: Baggyeyes
Fandom: 3:10 to Yuma
Rating: NC-17
Word count: 1267
Characters: Ben Wade, Dan Evans

Summary: Ben Wade has lost his mind and sees himself as a demon, and Dan Evans as an angel.

On the RL front, my second interview with Jesse Rhodes went sooo much better! It helps when you've actually done your research and have a prepared list of questions. It was neat because I wasn't expecting to be interviewing real bands or performers (was expecting more local newbies), but this guy was previously signed with Warner when he was with his band, Stegosaurus. They opened for Weezer and so on. Anyway.

Maggie and I checked out the bar that I'm mainly previewing for, and it was fun. Fell in love with the band United by Sound. Also, Kathryn East came up to spend Saturday, and I did my best to get her drunk over a beer sampler set. To no avail.

On the fandom front, I have new fandoms! Yay! I've recently become obsessed with the Honeydew Syndrome web comic. The comic's adorable, and there's lots of fic! Yay! I'm in love with Charles/Metis, but the predominant fandom ship is definitely the canon couple, Josh/Metis. Ah, well. I adore Josh/Metis, but I'd still love to see more Charles/Metis fic.

I also finally checked out 3:10 to Yuma (wanted to see what [Bad username or site: @] was so excited about. ;)), and I'm in love. Fandom loves Charlie, but I'm digging on Ben/Dan. Slashiest Western in existence, by the way.

P.S: Totally bought the Special Edition of Sweeney Todd! Eee!
