Welcome, Sophie!

Meet Sophia Lavinia-- a.k.a Sophie. A.k.a Stanzi II: The Girl Version. They're full biological siblings, and they seem to share the same personality. It's hilarious, and she brings back all the memories of when Stanzi was a puppy (because they look and act exactly the same-- and because it was just a few months ago that he was one). The main difference? Sophie is a cuddler! Unlike Stanzi, who puts up with it for only so long before he tires of humoring the silly humans. If I had gotten them in the reverse order, they soooo would have been named Wolfie and Stanzi.
Sophie used to live with my cousins, but they weren't expecting all the effort required for a Shih-tzu puppy. I tell people that they're remarkably similar to babies (up to and including absurd wake-up times), but they always look at me like, "Okay, crazy dog-lady." I guess you have to have one to know. I know certain former roommates of mine who know the deal, huh? ;)

She's practically a rescue dog herself, considering that my cousins practically threw her into my mother's arms and they clearly had no idea how to take care of her. She was filthy, with cakes of yuck around her eyes that we spent a long time cleaning and cutting away. Anyone who owns a shih-tzu should know that they have to clean their eyes consistently. *Is still indignant in a crazy dog lady kind of way*
