I was researching some information at the hp-lexicon, and naturally, I got distracted. A few quotes from an interview with J.K. Rowling:

Magwitch: If you could be any female character in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone which one would you be?

JK Rowling replies -> Hermione. Definitely not Pansy Parkinson.

Luisa: Is Draco an only child?

JK Rowling replies -> Yes. You wouldn't want more Dracos, would you?!

Field: Do you plan for Ginny to take on a major character role in the next two books?

JK Rowling replies -> Well, now that Ginny has stopped being mute in Harry's presence I think you can see that she is a fairly forceful personality (and she always has been, remember Ron saying that she 'never shuts up' in Chamber of Secrets)?

As for Pansy and Draco, you've got to admit that in the books they're pretty awful people. It's only in the fanfics that there are better versions of them.

Bah! I don't want Ginny in it more!!!! I want her to be quiet again! There is too much suggestion about her being an exceptional witch. I don't like that. She doesn't need to be powerful. She had her purpose in SS. She's bossy and annoying! I can't take it!

Man the next book needs to come out! And if it's like the last one, I say we hunt Rowling down...yes...a nice bounty through England...we could force important information out of her and help her see the error of her ways...yes...*evil smile*
