I'm Back and Some HPness...
Sep. 21st, 2008 09:11 pm'Ello, I'm back. The road trip was fun. We drove through four states and two major mountain ranges. Through the mountains, I was terrified that we were going to be assaulted by a deer or elk due to the warning signs every five seconds, but no mountain creatures to be found. I got to spend some time in Vegas, met a random guy in Arizona who grew up in my SoCal hometown, and got hit on by a creepy guy outside of a liquor store. Denver was neat, but Boulder, CO, is my official retirement city. Gorgeous and cultural, my two favorite city attributes.
I came home to some stills of the newest HP movie. It shows just how out of touch I am with the HP fandom that I had to actually look up who Romilda Vane is. There was a time when I could have given you the freakin' page numbers of every randomly mentioned character in those books. My, how the interest has fallen. But judging by these stills, Harry is an idiot for choosing Ginny over Romilda. She is probably the most attractive female to pass those cameras over the course of the six films.
Oh, and here's a creepy quote from Director David Yates about Harry and Ginny's romantic moment in the film. She apparently bends down to tie his shoelace and: "Then it changes from that kind of maternal looking after him to something more heightened and sexual." I don't know what's more disturbing, the fact that Harry can't tie his own shoes or that even the director is subconsciously playing on Harry's massive Oedipal complex in relation to Ginny. Blech.
But the actor playing Blaise is HOT. I approve.
