What's wrong with so many children's book authors is the real question. Dr. Seuss was a severely neurotic vodka swilling chain smoker when it came to crunch time, Maurice Sendak has no problems with pulling the "I'm just scratching my head" middle finger salute when asked about his publishers during a documentary special aimed at children and Charles Schultz was a majorly depressed man intent on reminding the world how childhood is synonymous with failure. However, they just seem to get it.
Now, Pan's Labyrinth...are you bringing it up because of comparable levels of darkness? Because if so, DAMN. This is gonna be nuts.
