Unpopular Fandom Opinion #1: I ship Jack/Gwen in Torchwood. I actually hate Jack/Ianto. Sorry, ya'll, but it doesn't appeal to me at all. I don't get the massive love. Gwen's my favorite character, so it disturbs me greatly to hear that fandom despises her. I have to believe that it's because she's actually viewed as a threat to Jack/Ianto, and the fangirls are just hissing at the competition.

Unpopular Fandom Opinion #2: I think Serenity sucks. Firefly is amazing, but I have so many issues with the movie. And I hardcore ship Jayne/Kaylee. Simon/Kaylee is boring. In fact, all of the canon ships are boring (save Zoe/Wash), but I (again) have to believe it's because the show was prematurely canceled before Joss had time to force his characters to be more interesting via emotional torture as he did in Angel and anything else he ever made. Oh, Joss. Also, I'm beyond disturbed to see so much romantic/sexual River fic. She's child-like and insane! I apologize to anyone who ships River/Whoever, but it really creeps me out. Though, to demonstrate my own hypocrisy, I would totally get shipping River/Simon (but it's possibly because I've been on a genius!incestuous!siblings kick due to Ender's Game).

I also prefer Jack/Gwen in Torchwood XD But I don't really 'ship' them. It's only a 'preference' XD and Jack*Dr >> Jack*Ianto for male*male XD
Like, as much as I love Rose in Dr Who, I prefer Martha ('cause she's kind of awesome you know :p). That doesn't mean I ship her with the Dr though :p

Yeah, I guess I don't "ship" if that implies an active effort to read or write fic/meta. But I always liked the idea of them, and it's interesting to see it actually getting explored.

Aw, Martha. The other unfortunate soul fandom turned on. :(

Yeah I heard the fandom hates her, which is really sad because she's reallyyyyyyy awesome. As much as I loved Rose, can you imagine her going all around the world, all alone, during one year, to spread the word? D: 'Cause really, that was not her type.
So yeah. Martha is a freaking awesome heroine and all my friends and I love her. I will watch Torchwood just to see her again. That is how much I love her.
Also, I want to see her interactions with the Dr again. Next time they meet.

Hehe. I actually live with both a Pro-Martha person and a Pro-Rose person. It's a, um, interesting place to be. ;) I'm behind on the Torchwood episodes, so I'm not sure if they've actually aired the Martha episodes yet, but I'm really curious to see how she's going to fit in there.

Torchwood is not going to air in France anytime soon, although I might push my bf so we can watch the eps earlier XD I also want to watch the Christmas episode (not going to wait up until next year x______x).

And also, lulz, I love both Rose and Martha. You can live with liking both characters, OMG! I love Martha more because well... I think that overall, she's a better character than Rose. More mature, even if she has her childish antics (with her jealousy for Rose for example). And she was able to put some sense in the Dr, who needed it.
Also, her them is ♥

I don't really ship anyone on Torchwood and I'm really just interested to see where it goes. That being said I was more into Jack/Gwen during the beginning of season one. Now, it seems forced after what's going on, but that's just my opinion. I guess in the end I'm just watching the show or the fun of it, I'm not running out for fanfic or anything.

Yeah, I was really surprised when Jack/Gwen suddenly starting being emphasized this season. It does seem out of nowhere. I'm just one of the minority who is actually pleased (if perplexed) to see it popping up again. :)

I always thought that there was something, especially at the last ep from the first year. So I'm not surprised to hear that.

...It's funny, because I re-watched the entire Firefly series on Monday and all the Kaylee/Jayne-ness made me sporfle. :3 Besides, Simon sort of treats her like shit...

And who ships what with River? I am so glad I have stayed away from the Firefly fandom...and yes I may ship River/Simon too. Maybe. Possibly.

Meep! *is supposed to be on hiatus* I CAN'T STAY AWAY from LJ.

LOL! You cannot fight the addiction! One of us, one of us, one of us!

Jayne/Kaylee had me hooked on the first episode. I'm just sad that there wasn't time to really give it attention. I love Simon, but (again) there wasn't really time to develop his relationship with Kaylee. Why were they even interested in each other, aside from the reason that Simon himself laid out (meaning that they're the only two options for each other left over)? Of course, that was blatantly ignoring Jayne, but whatever. XD If the show had progressed, I don't see them as lasting.

I am being tugged elsewhere by AP work and RL! Noooo! *resists*

I don't see them as lasting, either. That's why I really wish the show would have progressed! But, I mean. I loved Serenity dearly until I saw the series--because the movie as a stand-alone is pretty damn good, I thought. ^^;

Oh great God.

I don't even know what to do with you when you go into incest-loving mode. Seriously, incest? You have siblings! How does it not make your skin crawl??

River sexuality/romance is wrong in more ways then I can to think about.

The thing about Kaylee/Jane is that, Kaylee is pretty young too. No where near as young as River, and they kept it no secret she enjoys the sex, but Jane is more "what's wrong with just bangin'?" and Kaylee is more "one time hook-ups with no attachment, yes. Prolonged sexualizin' with no emotional love, no."

Shala, why do you never understand my kinks??? Why? Incest has nothing to do with real people in my brain. It's solely a story device. Real life incest is a no go.

I don't think Jayne would be able to keep up that non-attached b.s. with Kaylee. Don't you remember his crouching outside her hospital room? He already loves her. Of course, I'm assuming that Joss would have eventually given his character more depth given time. And I don't know if I entirely agree with you about Kaylee. I could pretty easily see her in a prolonged friends-with-benefits situation. /fangirl rant.
