No Likey the Cat Scan...
May. 29th, 2008 05:55 pmSo, I've been having some health issues.
I had one of my horrible migraines a week ago, and my vision/head never really recovered. I was walking the pup the other day and my vision blurred so badly that I couldn't really see anything beyond the blur. Blurry vision, bad headaches, blah blah blah. I went in to Student Health yesterday, and the doctor said, "You know, it gets so boring just seeing people with colds and pink eye all the time. It's nice to see someone with a real problem." Err... Yay? She also said that she's never had to refer a person to so many different places in one sitting (I had to run all over the clinic to various places). I felt a little judged for never having been to a doctor about the migraines, but I've just always had them. And my father had them, though my mother just told me that they were never to this extent. Well, shucks.
I went to the eye clinic and got tested. Apparently, I have 20/15 vision, which is better than 20/20. Super vision is awesome, but I was mainly just relieved that I'm not going blind. I was actually so freaked out about such a prospect the other day that Nicole had to coax me out of a pathetic, self-pitying funk. Nor do I have diabetes or glaucoma. Good to know.
I had a cat scan today, which kind of freaked me out. Maggie went with me, which I appreciated. I won't know anything until Wednesday- but I don't really expect them to find anything, since the doctor told me that it was unlikely to be a tumor since I've had the migraines so long and haven't, you know, died. The only thing I really expect to get from all these tests is maybe a better medication than the ibuprofen I've been self-medicating with all these years. :/
*Sigh* It's all so very dramatic. No likey.
