[Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] time!
Crap, we're TWO episodes in, and I'm still hooked on this volume.
Shorter meta this week because not a lot happened.
Peter/Tracey: LOL, bitch, please. "I know him better than you because I've slept with him." Peter is not amused. Probably because he and Nathan have made the eye!smex into an Olympic sport. You wish, Tracey. You wish.
I like how the writers took away any moral ambiguity that might have existed in having Peter fly away and abandon her to Nathan by having her decide to betray him first. Peter is a saint, and Tracey is a whore. No, writers, I did not forget.
Nathan/Peter: "How many times are we gonna do this?" That really is the question. As hot as I find Peter taking Nathan hostage at gun point and disowning him, there's only so many times the Petrellis can shoot each other before it's gotta take. *Is paranoid that this is Nathan's last volume*
Mama Petrelli: Continues to be awesome. And for all Nathan's resentment towards her, he still felt compelled to call his mommy to whine about his nefarious plan and to make sure that she still loves him better than Peter. Oh, those Oedipal issues. They never go away!
Claire: Uh-oh, both dads are starting to pull at their chunk of shared meat. At least Dad #1 (HRG) seems to be riding the gray-morality-train again, while Dad #2 (Nathan) is just being an ass.
The Hunter: Whoa, little dude's got some balls talking like that to a senator who obviously isn't above Guantanamo Baying his own brother.
Sylar: What is this? Sylar's School for Disgruntled Youth and Aspiring Villains? Boy, he loves his melty men. First Zane, and now this dude. I'm completely intrigued by the potential for the adventures of Sylar and Sylar!boy. It's probably wrong of me, but I'm so glad Sylar is back to being his snarky, homicidal self. The woobification already feels like a bad dream!
Daphne/Feminism: *Is Dead* Seriously, it's not a joke anymore to say that any girlfriends, wives, or general romantic interests are doomed to die horribly when they always do. *Sigh* Daphne, I loved you. You were the only female character that I didn't want to put in a sack and drop in a ravine. So, naturally, they killed you and gave me more scenes of Claire and Tracey. Blech.
Ando/Daphne: *Was temporarily awesome* I don't think I've ever shipped Ando with a woman before, but they are (were) tempting me.
Hiro: Hiro's special way of speaking sounds all the more ridiculous the more people that are around him. "The hero's journey is never easy/I am a warrior/It is my destiny to go there." Awww.
Sandra: SHE'S BACK!!! YAY! But why the hell are Claire and HRG lying to her again? That has gotten really old. And where is my Lyle?

Date: 2009-02-10 08:42 pm (UTC)And I was super irked that Sandra said the hosue was empty without her. What about my boy Lyle? What about MR. MUGGLES?

Date: 2009-02-10 10:43 pm (UTC)WE LOVE LYLE AND MR. MUGGLES. Damn it.
I'm still disappointed that they gave Ando and Mohinder powers at all. I liked that there were main characters around to provide a foil for the powered heroes. But, granted, Ando was overdue for some independent awesomeness.

Date: 2009-02-14 11:13 pm (UTC)I love Sandra, but I took her comment about missing Claire with a grain of salt. She did, after all, see Claire die twice. I mean, she must be a little on edge about that.
However, I think that they have dropped the ball on the amazing Lyle. I think that having a fully human brother team up with Claire, keep her in check, and be her Ando would be really interesting. I mean, he did grow up with her, after all.
ALSO! Biggest pet peeve: Hiro runs a billion-dollar company and no one noticed he was kidnapped? And where is his super awesome sister in the midst of all of this? It's like the show just forgot her.

Date: 2009-02-15 04:50 am (UTC)Even the Petrelli boys, Simon and Monty, have disappeared. There's so much that can be done with them, considering their family, but no. Nothing. *Sigh*
