Oh, right on, McCain. Right on.

This is the first time I've actually been excited about politics in a long time, and I owe it all to... SARAH FREAKING PALIN. :D :D :D

Seriously, I couldn't have asked for a better vice presidential candidate. A female, Republican, walking-pro-life-poster, who is also a reformer? I get to vote for two Republican reformers? Am I dreaming? (And people who call McCain "Bush 2.0" don't know anything about John McCain.) A woman with a decent shot at actually winning and who isn't Hilary Clinton? Fantastic.

God, she's so perfect a choice that I'm doing the dance of joy. She's got enough to appeal across the boards to steal those swing voters and the Hilary women who are pissed enough about Obama to vote McCain (their choice has just been made easier). She's from Alaska, is passionate about alternative energy, fights against big oil, IS A WOMAN, has experience as BOTH a mayor and a governor, is a REPUBLICAN WOMAN, is a hockey mom, sports-enthusiast, member of the NRA (I'm not pleased about that, but it's good because she'll appeal to those more conservative Republicans that John Mccain alienates), is a practice-what-you-preach pro-lifer, is NOT Mitt Romney, and is NOT Hilary Clinton.

I'm in love. I want Sarah Palin for president. She's been a beauty queen, a sportswoman (basketball, specifically), a mayor, a governor, a wife and mother of five, and now a vice presidential nominee. All before the age of 44!!

ETA: Yes, I'm aware that I won't be winning any lj popularity contests by being Republican and pro-life, but I decided that if everyone else gets to annoy me with their political jabber, then I get to annoy you guys, too. Okay, not really, just right now because I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT SARAH PALIN.
