Veronica Mars Cancellation...
May. 17th, 2007 08:22 pmI know a lot of you are disappointed, but I am soooooo relieved.
It was a mercy killing, really. When something becomes unbearable to watch, it should be put out of its misery. I've never seen a show turn to such utter crap in such a short period of time. Killing it now instead of letting the crap drag on for years is the first semi-rational decision the WB/CW has ever made. Yeah, I'm lookin' at you, Smallville. You, with your renewal for a 7th season. Ugh.
And all of those thoughts about setting season four five years in the future with Veronica working for the FBI? Pfft. What was initially cool about her was that she was a teenage girl detective who could play with the big boys. Working for the FBI would just make her... Well, one of the big boys. In other words, NOT INTERESTING. Besides, I buy Veronica solving stupid, towney mysteries, but if I had to see her solve FBI, high-profile cases with her unrealistic, Sherlock Holmes-esqe deductions... No. Just no.
R.I.P Veronica Mars. May you be remembered for the first two seasons and NOTHING MORE.
