As of last night, Shala's wedding is officially over, as is my role as the Maid of Honor. The wedding went smoothly, except for a bit of the weepies during the ceremony (it was emotional, okay?) and the groom's Scottish and extremely elderly grandfather mishearing me explain who I was and telling me at length how lovely I was for being the mother of the bride. *FacePalm* It's incidents like that coupled with the fact that I rarely get carded ever that's enough to give a girl a complex. Aside from that nonsense, everything was lovely and I can't believe my girl is actually married.

In other news, a week from today I'm sojourning on a road trip to Denver with another of my gal pals. She's relocating and I'm going to help her get settled. We're going to have wacky adventures a la Thelma and Louise! Except for... pretty much everything that happened in that movie. Anyway, it's going to be fun.

In terms of fandom...

Everyone needs to go immediately and read the online novel [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. It's possibly the funniest thing I've ever read, not to mention the funniest Twilight parody ever. Here's the synopsis from the author:

"This is the best book that has ever been written. I'm serious and I'm not lying or joking at all. You may notice it bears some vague resemblance to another book by another lady about vampires that sparkle or something. This book is better. I promise. You should read it!"

Another:

"There were three thoughts I was thinking, that I was absolutely positive were accurate thoughts:

One, Xlormp was a space alien.

Two, there was part of him, and probably it was all of him, that wanted to blow up my planet.

And three, I was really, really hungry for quesadillas."
