4 Episodes into D.N. Angel...

starvinbohemianI was seriously about to kick this anime to the curb after that girl was abducted by a unicorn. Normally, I'd think that the presence of a unicorn in general would be enough for me to label something as "not for me."
However, I wasn't expecting the CANON SLASH! Hiwatari Satoshi may just save this anime for me. It helps that he and Daisuke are so Kingdom Hearts' Riku/Sora it isn't even funny. Red-haired Sora and glasses-Riku. Cheerful borderline-retarded lead and dark, angsty anti-hero who is entirely obsessed with him beyond all reason? Yup. Riku/Sora all right.
Then again, the excessive perkiness of this one could probably actually kill me. It's a toss-up, because I really want to like this one if only to find one other anime/manga to get into while I wait for more Bleach. Bleach is starting to look like a red-herring. I tried Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Ghosts in the Shell... and none of them have worked for me. Naruto really doesn't look like something I could get into. I'm hesitating over Death Note.

P.S: And why does Daisuke's mom look like grown-up Yuzu from Bleach??? And there's an Inoue and an Ishida in the credits! Wha...?

Date: 2007-04-06 08:21 pm (UTC)I've tried Naruto (blech!), Love Hina, Vampire Princess something something and Hellsing, with fruitless results. I've even considered re-watching Sailor Moon but- I think at this point in my life the plot is a little bit too silly for me. *sigh* If you find something worth watching, would you tell me?
As for Death Note I highly recommend it to you! For real! I just finished reading it and was thinking about doing a post with my final thoughts about it. The plot is very original, the characters are amazing and the art of the manga is truly beautiful. The only downside is that it's somewhat short, it only has 12 volumes (which you can find complete at Anime Eden (http://www.anime-eden.com)) and the anime will only have 37 episodes. If you decide to give it a try be sure to stay away from spoilers, it'll be so much better that way.
Evangelion is also good, but it will screw with your head big time.
