Aw. Bleach Dub.

After the mountain of crap that was Spiderman 3, you are a balm to my soul. Okay, that's an exaggeration, but I didn't cringe very much through The Star and the Tramp, and that's all I can really ask for, isn't it? Chibi-Rukia's VA was actually cute. Though, I gotta say that English-Renji kinda lacked the emotion of Japanese-Renji. His "RUKIA!!!" didn't pack the same punch. Plus, having "Gotei 13" replaced with "Thirteen Court Guardians" is kinda hard to get used to.

But, eh. As far as dubs go, I still give this one an A-. But watching it reminded me that I really want Renji to get some kind of lovin' before Bleach ends. Rukia's not in love with him. "Brother box" and all. I accept that, because IchiRuki is my OTP. However, a "yeah, I kinda maybe had feelings for you once" would suffice to console me that the poor boy hasn't really been wasting over half a century for absolutely nothing. *Pets Renji*

Aw Renji. I don't think it's possible for me to love him more. Which channel is showing Bleach? I have Cartoon Network and Nick, maybe someday they will have it here too.

Me, too. But why is he so tragic?? His dignified pining hurts my soul. 40 years of silence! Gah! :(

Adult Swim on Cartoon Network shows Bleach at midnight on Saturdays. They're going in order, so it'll be, like, a year until Rukia gets her ass rescued. ;)

Oh, why won't they show Bleach here in Mexico (but they do have Naruto)? It's so not fair.

A year huh? Wow, that's impressive considering it took me like, a week to finish the SS arc.

Oh, I didn't know you were in Mexico. Which state? :)

Yeah, it's ridiculous. The wait would drive me insane if I didn't have the subtitled episodes. I might actually be driven to learn Japanese. ;)

Tamaulipas, I doubt you've heard about it XD. It's actually part of the USA-Mexico frontier, in the east coast (Gulf of Mexico).

Knowing japanese would be so cool, but *sigh* I'm still polishing my english and I think that would be too far off my capabilities. I want to start studying french, though.

I am familiar with Tamaulipas. Admittedly, only because I took an intensive Mexican history course that required me to memorize all of the Mexican states... but it still counts. ;)

Your English is awesome. I just assumed you were American. My bad. ;)

His dignified pining hurts my soul, makes me love him, and also makes me want to smack him upside the head. He's damn lucky she even wanted to still be his friend after so long. People have drifted apart in far shorter periods.

Damn straight he's lucky. I love him and all, but I still get pissed at him if I think too hard about the psychological implications of being dropped by your best friend/family for half a century. However good his intentions may have been...

Poor Renji. I don't think she's in love with him and I don't think she ever was (though I could see the whole childhood sweethearts first kiss that didn't exactly mean anything heavy thing.) The whole Kaien thing indicates to me that, while she obviously still cared for and missed Renji, she wasn't having the romantic feelings that would get her hung up on him like he was. I don't know, it's late, ask me tomorrow and I can maybe explain my feelings on this better.

I'm used to the translation "a star and a stray dog," so "the star and the tramp" makes me think of Lady and the Tramp. Given Renji's dog thing, that's probably not inappropriate.

*Sigh* Perpetual brother box. Damn it. I don't think she was ever in love with him either, but it's so hard to accept that he's been faithfully and pointlessly pining for 50 years. Jesus, Renji!

Hehe. Not inappropriate at all. ;)

Even if she does dig his chili, it'd have to be after the war, because aside from the fact that they don't have a lot of time for socializing right now...whether you call it romantic or not, Ichigo just has her attention now in a way Renji does not. And if she were really in love with him, she probably wouldn't be able to compartmentalize her feelings that way.

I think the brother thing actually makes it better for the pining, because it's one thing to be all loserly and pine after a lost love for decades, another entirely understandable thing to miss your best friend and family for all that time.

I agree with this statement ONE-HUNDRED PERCENT. Thats why I cringed.

Who would Renji be with, though? (As if Bleach is ever going to end...)

*Sigh* No one. No one but Rukia. The stupid boy has been hung up for half a century. There's no letting go now. I just wish that his love could be validated in some way. Some kind of recognition back from her.

There's a far amount of people on the Renji/Tatsuki bandwagon, and I can see why. She's enough like Rukia and enough not like Rukia. However, therein lies the problem. Maybe if I could get past my beliefs that Renji will never get over Rukia and the fact that Tatsuki is so obviously a lesbian... Eh. No one else (outside of the slash prospects) comes even this close to plausible for me.

*chimes in late* I kind of like Renji/Matsumoto. More than fuck buddies, but not so heartbreakingly serious, and she can relate to the lost love thing.

*butting in* If there's no RenRuki and he absolutely has to hook-up with someone then I'd much rather see Renji with either one the female shinigamis (the ones not already in love, which narrows the selection waaay too much) or Byakuya (ha! like that's gonna happen), than with Orihime or Tatsuki.

I foresee an open-ending for the series, so I doubt we'll end up with any romantic pairings canonically established (at least not more canon than IchiRuki or UraharaYoruichi already are).

Ooh, I definitely have to agree with that. How'd it work between him and those two anyway?

AH! Urahara/Yoruichi! There's one I forgot I shipped. XD I'm trying not to get into Bleach pairings because most of them are really not all that canon, but it's so tempting...

Hmn. Who would that include? The only female shinigami that aren't blatantly hung up on someone (off the top of my head) are Unohana and Isane. Or, if you wanted to be really cracktastic, Kiyone? Well, if she could ever detach herself from Sentarou, I suppose.

Matsumoto-> Gin.
Hinamori-> Aizen (*Cough, Stockholm Syndrome, Cough*)
Rukia-> Ichigo/Anyone but poor Renji.
Yachiru-> Kenpachi (but dear Lord, not like that)/babyhood.
Yoruichi-> Urahara.
Soifong-> Yoruichi.

Did I forget anyone?

*Nemu-> Is she even sufficiently human? And that would mean having a creepy father-in-law, so I guess she's a no-no.
*Nanao-> Shunsui
*Rikichi? (jk!) I do think he would be thrilled by the prospect, though.

I think from what we have Isane is the only possible choice, but we don't really know much about her. Well, only that she's like, the polar opposite of her sister, I guess that's good. I think Unohana is too old for him, and Kiyone...yeah, I won't even get into that.

*Slaps forehead* Of course! How could I forget them?

Lol. As far as Nemu goes, I think she's hot enough so that you could throw out the "sufficiently human" question and just do her. ;) However, I always got a Nemu->Ishida vibe. God, I don't even want to think about how Mayuri would fit into this... Yikes.

Aw, Rikichi. ;)

Renji and Nemu would make a gorgeous couple (with adorable babies, I imagine). Imagine Renji going to see Mayuri to ask for her daughter's hand *crack ensues*.

Rikichi is too cute, I want to re-watch that episode. Is that the one where Renji wears the pink hakama? Hot stuff.

Thanks to an awesome post and [livejournal.com profile] renji_rukia I could download the dub. I'm watching it right now. I'm going to end up so fuckin' depressed.

I think an obsession with Renji/Nemu has just been born to me. Woe is me that has no fic to support my new addiction... ;(

Mayuri would probably chop off his daughter's hand before he ever gave it to anyone. Unless it arrived in a inconspicuous box on Renji's doorstep. Again: yikes.

*Snickers* You just love that pink hakama. ;) And yes, I believe it is.

Just finished watching ;___; It amazes and fills me with JOY me just how well animated this episode was. And why does Rukia have all the pretty hakamas? They're really different from everybody else's.

And D-Tecnolife. Man! I had forgotten how awesome this opening was. I miss the SS arc.

Rukia and Renji know of a super-secret closet somewhere where they horde all of the fabulous hakamas for themselves.

Heh. Good, I'm glad it sucks. I had no desire to see it and now I have been confirmed that my suspicions that it would suck were correct. Good ridens to the whole trilogy. The second one was...not memorable...I can't even remember what happened because it was just ongoing action crap and the first one was WAY overrated.

There are not enough words in the English vocabulary for how much it sucked. Blech.

Yeah, but Spiderman was never Batman to begin with, ya know? There's only so much awesomeness to be achieved by such a dorktastic hero. And- oh, man- even when he's "bad," he achieves new heights of dork. :P
