Well, great bloody bugger fuck.

I was going to be good and wait for the book to actually arrive to my hands, but I broke. I've been spoiled up the wazoo. I know pretty much everything I wanted to know about Book 7. I've read the epilogue and the comments from people who have read the whole book to confirm things. I know, and I am pissed.

Fuck.

Of course, I had to call my family to ruin the book for all of them as well. Such is my way. But I won't spoil any of you against your will, so you can relax. ;)

To rub further salt into the wound, here's a picture from a cut scene of James and Lily in OotP. *Sigh*

how did you read the epilogue? Who's read the book?

Lots of people, apparently. XD Remember those stolen 7 books? Yeah. The epilogue is online in its entirety, and Nicole has a link to download the entire book. I stumbled upon several communities of people discussing what they'd read. There are also pictures of the actual book all over the place. The pictures are clear enough that you can read chunks of it that way. I also have a link to a list of all the deaths with page numbers.

I'm spoiled on everything, and now I wish I wasn't. XD

I still think it's a fake... really, because I went to my bookstore chain yesterday and was told that they don't even have the books yet. But maybe that's just Canada, we're rated lower on the Potter scale :P

I've been spoiled too, and a part doesn't care, because honestly, that epilogue is crap! I think Rowling got herself a ghost writer, anyway... *sigh* it's a real shame that the Harry Potter went down this way, too.

Lol. Poor Canada. ;)

I wish I could say otherwise, but there's no doubt in my mind about its authenticity. There are too many different sources, people talking about the book in its entirety, the pictures, the page numbers, etc. There have been fakes, but they didn't have this kind of back-up. *Sigh* I'd give anything for it to be a fake, though.

Oops. Forgot this:

The spoilers and such are all from those stolen books from some time ago, so it's not necessarily proof of Canada getting the shaft. ;)

True... but I really, really hope that the whole OBHWF ending isn't the right one. I figured the series might end like that, but I really don't know anyone who married their high school sweetheart or their first/second crush anyway...

I guess we'll find out on Saturday. My only compensation is that I'm seeing King Lear as well, so if it really is that bad of an ending (I'm readnig the epilogue FIRST) then I can fully cry and bawl during the performance, and say I'm allowed because it's a tragedy. :)

Also: if it's from some time ago, it would've had to be before the whole $10-mil security thing was set up. Perhaps then it's a rough first draft? and not the final? I truly am grasping at straws...

They seem to in JKR's universe. Of course, few of her characters seem to emotionally mature beyond Hogwarts anyway... XD

Well... From what I understand, the books were stolen by bookstore employees. Also, the pictures I've seen were of the actual book, hardcover, bound, and all. But, yes. Straws are good. ;)

Lol! How convenient Shakespeare is.

Lily.... has.... pink bows in her hair...

O.O

I like James, but there is something... fundamentally wrong with pink bows... and Lily...

It's because red hair and pink bows do not go together! I would expect such a "clever witch" to have figured that out by her mid-adolescence. XD

James is... blonde.

I think James is more auburn... there's red in that sandish hair of his. Hey! Maybe Harry Potter isn't Potter after all -- maybe the Boy-Who-Lived is really SEAMUS FINNEGAN!!

I actually got a copy a couple of days early through a friend, do you know how hard it has been not to spoil the whole freakin' world?

You got a whole copy? Lucky you. Can I ask how your friend got it, or is it supersekrit? ;)

It's sooo hard! Good thing I had a handful of people willing to let me spoil them or else I'd have gone insane. Hands over my mouth at bus stations to keep from blurting things out at random strangers kind of insane. XD

Well, her dad is the manager at a Borders. But that's boring, let's go with...she's a spy for Her Majesty's government, and she found the book while on a mission to take down a small Eastern European country.

I realise it's rather odd of me to leave a comment on an entry that's well over two years old, but I googled 'Ginny is creepy' and it led me to your Deathly Hallows rant. You had me nodding so fiercely in agreement that my cat's attention was attracted by the movement, and then, of course, I had to look at any other Harry Potter rants you may have written. And then I saw the picture you linked to in this entry which I have never seen before and felt utterly compelled to comment even though you'll probably never get to read this. The reasons why I felt so strongly compelled?
1. Pink bows? Really?!
2. And more importantly, would you LOOK at how Harry is looking at his Ginny *cough* sorry, his mother?!

Wow, googling "Ginny is creepy" really does lead straight to my journal! How bizarre and hilarious!

Haha, this entry is so old that I had to double-check that I'd actually written it! In re-reading my DH review, I kinda wish I had been more meta and scholarly about it, but I recall being really upset over that damn book. Ah, well.

Lol! Yeah, that picture is awful. Pink bows, blonde!James, and Oedipal!Harry, oh my.

Whoopsie - I replied to your comment under my cousin's account not realising she hadn't logged out, so I deleted the comment - you probably got the reply in your email or LJ PM box anyway. If you didn't... well, I didn't say anything very important!

I got both, but no worries!

It's true that fandom and shipping can make readers much more demanding than they would otherwise be. We're a mean and greedy lot.
