Fast & Furious...

It's kind of exciting to see my Simon/Monty fic on the [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] board. :)


I saw Fast & Furious today and LOVED it. I couldn't have hoped for a better ending-- probably not for the franchise, seeing as how the movie just made tons of money and we know how that goes, but hopefully for my favorite characters. Well, with one notable exception. R.I.P.

I think it's fair to say that the The Fast and the Furious franchise (minus the in-between sequels) is my drug of the moment. They've been re-running the first one like crazy on TNT lately. I happened to catch it, not having seen it in years, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it this time around. The reason why isn't a mystery: Paul Walker and Vin Diesel are hardcore in love in it. I'm not even exaggerating.

Also, the movies have a surprising number of badass female characters who actually do things. Crazy, I know! Granted, there are tons of hood ornament skanks, too, but they're more than made up for by the BAMFs. There's also a strong emphasis on the importance of family. All in all, not bad for a testosterone-pumped B movie.

I wouldn't have guessed, but there is actually a huge fandom for F&F with some amazing fic. I hope the latest movie generates much fic love, because there is just sooo much more material to work with.

Am I the only person that feels the insane urge to drive really, really fast after seeing those movies? I remember watching the first one in college and I was the driver home, and of course, there was gridlock coming out of the parking lot and such, and I was like, "Come on! Gotta drive!!!"

Lol! It's true! It's all that adrenaline. I watch one of these, and then I get behind the wheel and think that I'm gonna be able to zoom around like Vin Diesel. Yeah, no. ^^;
