A Density of Souls...
Mar. 23rd, 2009 01:58 amI just finished reading A Density of Souls, and I am so in love with Christopher Rice right now. He's definitely my favorite author of the moment, The Snow Garden probably being my favorite book.
But holy crap, that guy is nuts. At least, his endings are nuts. You think you have the plot figured out about halfway through his novels, and you're kinda right in the end, but then all of a sudden there's a freaking hurricane or a crazy cult or a bizarre paternity issue and you're left going, "Bwuh??" I don't even understand how he manages to both work in these crazy tools of unbelievable melodrama and to somehow make them work. I'm seriously flabbergasted, just as I was when I finished The Snow Garden.
The ending to A Density of Souls? W...T...F. If any of you have read it, then you have a moral obligation to discuss it with me right now. Because bwuh???
