I don't think I have any Zutarans on my f-list, but if there does happen to be one or two... Sorry? I love you anyway?

But still: Linking because I receive sadistic pleasure from seeing the Powers That Be (a.k.a Mike and Bryan) of Avatar mock their Zutara fans. Essentially, Mike and Bryan compiled various fan arts that were sent to them, put them to dialogue that makes me either giggle or outright LMAO, and then (cruelly or hilariously?) presented the thing at Comic Con. ***Enjoy.***

My favorite?

The picture of Sokka flat-out saying, "People who think Zuko and Katara should be together will forever have doomed relationships."

AND:

Katara: "I just feel like we never have anything in common. You never talk to me about your feelings, your hopes, your dreams."

Zuko: "I'm feeling like I hope you shut up soon."

Katara: ... "Wanna go make out some more?"

Zuko: "No, not really."

Hehe. Because that is exactly what their relationship would be like. I'm disturbed by the amount of fan-love for that pairing, and this is an instance where I am so glad the creators decided to ignore an extremely vocal fan base (or section thereof) and do what they wanted. Really ballsy of them to present it at Comic Con as well. The only excuse for the huge fanbase for this pairing is that Zuko is essentially Draco Malfoy with a scar, and Katara is an easy self-insert.


Also, here's the first episode of the hilarious Avatar: The Abridged Series. Nothing will ever be as funny as the original Yu-gi-oh: The Abridged Series, but this one comes pretty close.

I like the idea of Katara/Zuko because I think they could bounce off each other (um...figuratively) interestingly in the future, and the last few episodes of season 3 pretty much proved that with all the being awesome ninjas together. There are plenty of sane K/Z fans-but man, the ones who envision the pairing as this fairytale land of unicorns and gumdrops must have been watching a different show. Cuz lol no. But in the end, my only true OTP of the show is Sokka/Suki, and that worked out quite well for me!

I don't know. I feel like Katara sucks the fun out of everything, and there's nothing funner for me than Zuko and Mai, with their "You're beautiful when you hate the world" semi-evil!angst.

Sokka/Suki did work out quite well for you. ^_^ I was privately rooting for Sokka/Ty Lee in my crack corner, but any ending for her that didn't involve death, despair, or imprisonment (Poor Azula. Least Disney ending EVER) worked fine for me.

Well, presumably figuratively. ;) I don't think about the kids of Avatar's sex lives much. And for what it's worth, I LOVE Zuko/Mai. I'm not sure whether or not they'd work in the long run, but I kinda root for those two crazy kids to make it work.

Sokka/Ty Lee would be AWESOME. Mai/Ty Lee too, those two just scream femmeslash to me. I like lots of Avatar ships; I have very few I dislike and only a couple OMG LOVE ones, so basically that makes me a ship hobag.

I can't think too hard about any of the canon pairings of Avatar (particularly Aang/Katara), because probably none of them would really hold up to scrutiny in terms of "forever." Not even taking into account that they're all still babies.

But Mike and Bryan gave me that awesome "future" sketch of Zuko and Mai with their son, and my response is: "Awww, okay yes forever." XD

It was a sketch they brought to Comic Con that they were considering for the final episode. It was obviously nixed, but I do not care. Soo cute!

Nuh-uh. This was one of a series brought to last year's Comic Con. There were more of Aang and Katara all grown up, but I didn't save them.

I like that their son looks like Aang with Fire Nation hair. ^_^
