Here be a fabulous Bryan Fuller interview. I love how honest he is.

Honest about his co-workers: "When I came back, it was a little bit like coming home from college and realising 'oh, mum and dad don't talk to each other any more, little sis is a cutter and little bro is hooked on meth.'"

Honest about the crappiness of Volume 3: "Everyone was so mad, pulling guns and yelling 'you ruined me'. Everyone was bitching a lot. For a second there I was like, 'I gotta get out of this.' I strongly believe that you should not write a show if you wouldn't watch it."

All good honesty, except for THIS: "When I came in, they were planning to kill Tracy off. She was gonna get shot in the back of the head ... It felt redundant to have her go out the same way, so I was like 'let's not kill her, let's see how these events change this character and stay with her on the journey as opposed to just cutting it off.'" Damn it, Fuller. I was almost free of Tracey and Ali Larter, and what did you do? *Sigh*

And here's some honesty that I'm turning into speculation on the 'main character finale death...' )

*Sigh* Well, the awesome streak had to come to an end eventually. I guess. I just wish it didn't end on an episode full of back-story. Angela's backstory, no less.

This fic is crazy long, so I had to divide it into two parts.

Title: The Lost Ones.
Author: Starvinbohemian.
Fandom: Heroes.
Pairing: Simon/Monty Petrelli.
Rating: R.
Summary: Petrellis keep their promises. Except when they don’t.

Continued from Part I.

Read Part II. )

Well, someone had to write fic for Monty and Simon. Huzzah for finishing my first Heroes fic!

The show is still awesome! And I will feel compelled to keep saying that until it's no longer a surprise anymore.

I know that I said last week's episode was my favorite since S1, but I think this one's my favorite of the entire series. Of course, I say that about every Petrelli-centric episode. But there was bonding! And hand-holding! And character development! And Petrellis in a church!

In case you haven't figured it out, this week's meta is all about the Petrellis and their inappropriate chemistry with each other as well as a lengthy bit about the use of Catholicism in this week's episode... )

I learned a valuable lesson this weekend, and it is that spray-on tanner is not my friend. At all. In fact, I was flat-out ready to call it an enemy when I was compared to a cheetah after showing my mother the results of said tanner on my legs.

Not. Hot.

As for that Simon/Monty fic I mentioned a few days ago, it's blossomed into this ridiculously long fic with actual plot. I've got over 7,000 words, and I'm just so in love with it that I can't stop. I can't wait to post it, though I may have to divide it into two parts.

I have to link this because BuddyTV made a list of the 10 Most Useless Deaths on Heroes.

Volume 4 is moving along nicely (now), but that doesn't mean that I'm not still smarting over losing these awesome characters for little to no reason. I agree with the list for the most part, but I'd definitely move Simone and DL higher on the list. And Eden should be on there, too. And Bob Bishop. And Candice.

But especially Simone and DL. *Sob*

Please, for the love of all things good and pure in this world, let this casting rumor for the Heroes S3 finale be true! Not to mention the random Petrelli boys rumor in the comments.

I kinda need these rumors to be true. A lot.

*Jumps up and down* Bryan Fuller's episode! Bryan Fuller's episode! Yay! I didn't realize that Bryan Fuller was responsible for the writing, the shooting, the title art, and the special effects, but they're all so much neater this episode that I have to give all the credit to him. This is in no way unfair.

And the episode is, indeed, the best one since S1... )

You ever have a ship that you just know you should like? But you don't?

I know that I should be able to ship Sylar/Mohinder. All the work is practically done for me. It's almost canon, they're both gorgeous, and they even have that rivals!dynamic that is usually one of my kinks. They're more or less the Harry/Draco of Heroes, if the sheer amount of fic out there is anything to go by. I tried telling myself that there was just too much fic to wade through to find the good ones, but even when I do find one that's written fabulously and does everything right, I just can't connect. My "do not ship" warning light starts going off.

My only explanation is that I ship them individually with Peter. Peter is my ship whore in Heroes. I always have that one character that I love beyond all others, and I ship them madly with just about everyone. But, bizarrely, I enforce a ship monogamy onto my ship whore's partners. For instance, I love Nathan/Peter, but I can't read fics that pair Nathan with anyone else, whereas I love Peter with Mohinder, Sylar, Adam, Elle, Simone, etc. Hopefully, I'm not the only weirdo to ship this way. Though it's a shame because Mylar is a really good ship, and I love their scenes together. I just can't read the fic.

Another pairing that I probably should like but vehemently don't is Paire. I hate Paire, and I don't know why. Clearly, I'm not opposed to Petrellicest, I don't deny the amazing chemistry Milo and Hayden have on screen, and I won't even deny that it's almost canon-- though I'd like to. I'm possibly squicked by their real life relationship, but that seems like an odd reason to reject the characters in a pairing. I really don't get it. *Scratches head*

Last [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] for two weeks until the next new episode. It's telling that I don't mind the delay.

However...

Yay! This episode was saved by Mama Petrelli and Paper Luthor! )

Yay, Slumdog Millionaire wins everything! Fantastic. When is that movie going to come out on DVD so that I can own it forever and ever? And "Jai Ho" won Best Song! Now I am satisfied and maybe I can stop obsessing about this movie and finally move on with my life. Until the DVD comes out.

Anyway, it's time for [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com].

Aqklaka! I'm trying really hard not to be excited about Volume 4 so as not to be let down again, but... Peter/Mohinder, Peter/Mohinder, Peter/Mohinder! Why are they so freaking pretty? Just when you think your ship is dead due to some petty assassination attempts, Sendhil and Milo exchange the most darling smiles in the world in a throwback to the awesome sauce that was S1, and Sendhil says, "Hello, Peter" with such gentle affection that-- *EXPLODES*

So, yeah, a little excited. I blame this promo with its intense music and insinuations of awesome. Although, I find it EXTREMELY amusing that the show is finally making everybody work together all Justice League-like after Kring has flat-out said that he doesn't want to do that because it would be boring. Obviously, someone in a position of power is overruling Kring these days, and I can't say that I find that a bad thing.

Paramedic!Peter! *SQUEEEEE*

I don't usually pay attention to blind items, but Kristin is usually at least almost right:

E! Online’s Kristin
has posted a blind item citing sources “close to Heroes” which indicates that one of the cast members is looking to exit the show at the end of this season, in part because of lack of screen time. According to her sources, NBC has not yet decided whether to let this actor out of his/her contract. There is, however, a “death” planned for the end of Volume 4 that could “wipe out this character for good.”
Here are the clues to who it might be:
  1. It’s a series regular who’s been on since season one.
  2. Some of you fans would freak if this actor were to leave.
  3. This particular Hero-ic soul has more name recognition than others in the cast.
  4. According to Peacock-net insiders, NBC is not likely to release this actor. (See number three.)
  5. If this actor does return for season four, there’s an easy way to bring him or her back from the planned “death.”

Hmn... The only actors that come to mind from #1 are Sendhil and Ali Larter. I wouldn't say that Mohinder has had less screen time than before, but most of the complexity of his role has been sucked out. And Tracey has barely had anything to do so far this season.

But then we hit #2. I can't imagine that there would be a big fan uprising over the loss of Ali Larter or any of her characters. As ridiculous as his character's become lately, I would still freak out at the loss of Mohinder. I loves that ridiculous pseudo-scientist. So... Sendhil?

However, Sendhil doesn't have the name recognition that other actors on the show have (i.e. Milo, Adrian, Hayden, Greg, etc.), and I can't imagine that he would be actively attempting to leave a successful show. I'd say that he's probably one of the least known outside of the show. Ali has some name recognition. I at least knew who she was before watching Heroes. So... Ali?

I won't even speculate on #4 or #5 because everyone "dies" all the time only to be brought back (as long as they are an attractive White male). So... GAH! I don't know! Any ideas?
